Bands: Lovescene, Werkha, Nxdia, Lavender Rodriguez, Anna McLuckie, Pedro Pedro Pedro + 2 more TBA
Hailing from Manchester with roots in the Cumbrian north, Werkha and his foot stomping, jazz inflected beats have been gracing the airwaves for the best part of a decade. Influenced as much by the rolling fells surrounding his village home as those hot sweaty times we share on the dancefloor. Werkha makes music for those crucial moments, the ones that make us feel connected as humans.
Nxdia is an indie-pop singer-songwriter hailing from the suburbs of Manchester. Born and raised in Egypt, she writes and sings both in English and Arabic. Nxdia’s music has a new take pop music, blending feel-good, slick and modern productions with personal and relatable lyrics.
Anna McLuckie is musician, musical director and facilitator based in Manchester. She performs as a vocalist and Clarsach player with her own indie folk ensemble Anna McLuckie and dream pop band Diving Station. Anna frequently collaborates with established Manchester musicians Hunrosa and Stuart McCallum.
Manchester based, Hampshire grown Lavender Rodriguez explores sounds between alternative/electronic soul to afrobeat by night, whilst working as a classical composer by day. Their music celebrates the intersectionality of queerness, mixed race and life experience and is recently returning to the Manchester scene.
Based in the UK, R&B collective Lovescene has taken the UK music scene by storm. Fronted by producer and song-writer Pops Roberts alongside Adisa Allen, Alex Hill, Ben Price, Jack Duckham and Ruben Milner-Edwards.
With influences ranging from the retro-soul sounds of Sade, Stevie Wonder and Prince to their modern contemporaries in UK broken beat, jazz and neo-soul. Lovescene's sound blends dance-floor energy, soulful harmonies and a cinematic atmosphere that gave rise to the band's name.
